Arizona — Prior to the 2024 offseason, there has been a lot of talk about the quarterback problems of the Arizona Cardinals and Chicago Bears. However, Thursday morning offered a great exchange between the two teams.
The Bears are reportedly working out former Cardinals quarterback Chris Streveler, according to ESPN NFL source Jeremy Fowler.
Earlier in the season, Streveler also worked out for the San Francisco 49ers.
28-year-old Streveler went undrafted in 2018 and began his professional career in the CFL. Before joining the Cardinals, he played for two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, where he won the Grey Cup in 2019.
In the 2020 offseason, Streveler inked a future/reserve deal with Arizona, where he played for almost two years until being cut in November of 2021. He also played for the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and Baltimore Ravens.
Streveler has only made nine NFL appearances, five of them were in Arizona. Officially, he’s completed 27 of 40 passes for 231 yards, one touchdown, and one pick-six.
Additionally, he has 16 run attempts for 75 yards.
Due to Tyson Bagent’s illness that kept him out of practice on Wednesday, some have theorized that Chicago may use Streveler as a backup quarterback in the last week of the season.
