In their game on Saturday night against the Utah Jazz, the Philadelphia 76ers started without three of their five starters after missing a starter in each of the first two games of this week’s schedule.
Tobias Harris, an experienced forward, was one of those left out.
The Sixers hosted the New York Knicks on Friday night, and the home team lost handily. Harris was called out of the game with aching ankles by the time the fourth quarter rolled around. Following the game, Sixers head coach Nick Nurse stated that Harris probably averted a long-term setback because the results of the initial X-rays were negative.
After the game on Friday, Nurse remarked, “He kind of jammed his ankle.”
The head coach continued, “He thinks he’s going to be questionable for tomorrow.” “I believe he states that it will depend on how he wakes up in the morning, but he believes there’s a good chance he can play.”
On Saturday, the Sixers didn’t take any chances with Harris. Harris was there when they made their initial injury report public and was demoted to out. When all was said and done, it appeared that Harris had managed to escape a serious setback thus far.
Regretfully, he was unable to obtain permission to proceed on Saturday.
Via Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire, Nick Nurse provided an update on the seasoned forward before to the game.
Nurse told reporters, “It’s not really like an ankle sprain, and there’s no damage.” “They have already determined that there aren’t any damages. I believe it was more akin to a jam. It is most likely going to result in some kind of bruising. He told me there is no swelling at all, but it hurts, so I’m always worried when I spoke with him this morning.
Nurse is hopeful that Harris might return to the court very soon, based on the reports he heard from the Sixers medical team. Harris wasn’t as dubious as first thought, but Nurse was informed that Harris had “some kind of chance” to play.
