LAS VEGAS At T-Mobile Arena on Thursday, the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Boston Bruins 2-1 thanks to a goal by Alex Pietrangelo 46 seconds into overtime.
Vegas (24-13-5), which has won two of three, had a goal and an assist from Jack Eichel and a save percentage of 32 from Logan Thompson.
With Jeremy Swayman making 23 saves, Boston (24-8-9) is behind 0-0-3. Matt Grzelcyk scored.
On a power play at 7:01 of the third period, Eichel gave Vegas a 1-0 lead. Jonathan Marchessault’s shot was tipped in by Eichel via Swayman’s five-hole putt.
The Golden Knights’ goal drought of 122:41 was broken.
At 12:18, Grzelyck’s point shot beat Thompson after hitting Alec Martinez’s stick. This gave the Bruins a one-point lead.
At 15:41, Vegas attacker Barbashev had a chance to take the lead again, but Swayman recovered with a diving stop with his right leg.
