The American receiver Reggie Begelton of the Calgary Stampeders has agreed to a contract extension, the organization announced on Thursday. The extended contract now extends through the 2025 season by one year.
The 30-year-old from Beaumont, Texas, just had a 2023 campaign in which he led the Stamps in receptions (86), receiving yards (1,119), and receiving touchdowns (five), earning him recognition as an All-Star in the Canadian Football League.
The seasoned slotback finished second in the CFL in catches and sixth in receiving yards despite missing three games. This season, Begelton has at least 100 receiving yards in four games, including a season-high 203 yards versus Toronto.
Begelton also received the Stamps Herm Harrison Memorial Award for exceptional community service in 2023.
Begelton has appeared in 68 regular-season games since joining the Red and White in 2017 and has 329 catches for 4,445 yards and 24 touchdowns. He has been a CFL and West Division All-Star thrice.
