The Boston Celtics will be without Jaylen Brown on Monday night when they take on the Toronto Raptors
On Monday night, the Toronto Raptors are a little bit shorthanded against the Boston Celtics.
Jaylen Brown’s right knee hyperextension will keep him out of action, according to Boston. Brown, who played 28 minutes against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, will now miss a minimum of one game due to an injury.
Monday night, Brown is the only injured player for Boston; Jordan Walsh, Drew Peterson, and JD Davidson are all out on G League assignments.
Christian Koloko, Otto Porter Jr., and Jakob Poeltl are still out for Toronto. Gradey Dick was added to the injury report after it was deemed questionable due to a sprained right thumb.
Poeltl’s sprained left ankle won’t be assessed again for at least a week. On Sunday during practice, he was spotted shooting a little while team medics examined his ankle.
Porter’s and Koloko’s status have not been updated. Porter hasn’t participated in a game in January due to a right knee sprain.
With Brown out, Al Horford is expected to move up to the starting lineup for the Celtics, providing even more size against Toronto’s thin frontcourt. With Poeltl out, Toronto has decided to start Thad Young, but Chris Boucher and Jontay Porter should come off the bench. Over the past few weeks, Jontay Porter has shown impressive.
Dalano Banton, who was recently called up from the G League and is traveling with the Celtics, will be making a homecoming on Monday. He has made 19 appearances for Boston this season, averaging 7.4 minutes each time.
