The Tennessee Volunteers are now up to six commits in the 2025 class after the commitment of five-star quarterback George MacIntyre. Who’s next?
George MacIntyre, the quarterback for Brentwood Academy, announced on Monday morning that the Tennessee Volunteers had defeated Alabama. With him in the boat, they gain access to a number of blue-chip talents, which is exactly what they had planned to do as the focal point of their 2025 recruiting class.
According to 247Sports, the Vols have the ninth-best recruiting class in 2025. With just six pledges in the program, Tennessee still has a number of major goals. The University of Tennessee’s head coach, Josh Heupel, has been adamant about upping the bar when it comes to recruiting, and with the in-state talent available, they stand a chance to assemble an excellent class.
Mr. David Sanders, O.T.
David Sanders Jr., an offensive tackle for Providence Day, has gained widespread attention since his first season. With Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee as the three SEC programs at the core of his recruiting, he checks in as the No. 2 talent in 2025. Tennessee is eager for him to return to campus, and having a standout passer in his recruiting class helps immensely. During a recruiting trip to Alabama, Sanders and MacIntyre got to know one another and have remained in contact ever since.
WR Cameron Sparks
Cameron Sparks, a wide receiver for Baylor, is ranked No. 40 in the United States and No. 2 in Tennessee. Tennessee is luring Sparks to play wide receiver, despite the fact that he has been pitched on playing both sides of the ball in college. He knows MacIntyre because they both compete frequently over the years and play in the same high school level.
DL and Ethan Utley
Ethan Utley, a defensive lineman at Ensworth, finished his junior year with 21 tackles, 10 TFLs, and 4.5 sacks. On Christmas Day, he revealed his top five, which included Texas, Michigan, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Tennessee, and Tennessee. The Vols have been a constant in this one. He has more visits to Tennessee than any other program and a close relationship with defensive line coach Rodney Garner.
Marcus Harris, wide receiver
Tennessee has visited California on multiple occasions throughout the Heupel era, and the Vols are a highly appealing option for prospects who don’t mind traveling far from home. One of those potential is wide receiver Marcus Harris of Mater Dei, who caught 43 receptions for 644 yards and six scores in the previous campaign. Over the weekend, he traveled to Knoxville for the first time and spent time with MacIntyre. During the trip, Tennessee’s offensive staff impressed, and Harris ought to return to campus soon.
Cunningham, Caleb WR
Wide receiver Caleb Cunningham of Choctaw County hauled in 48 passes for 1,138 yards and 14 touchdowns. Despite the Mississippi State Bulldogs’ momentum, Tennessee is among the top prospects in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, having visited Knoxville twice. In this case, MacIntyre’s choice is significant because Tennessee can ensure that Cunningham will play with a quality quarterback.
