Among the American League’s most disappointing teams the previous season were the Chicago White Sox. Although they entered the season as the favorites to win the American League Central, the squad never managed to get off to a strong start. The White Sox ended up in fourth place in the division with a 61-101 record at the end of the season. They were only five games ahead of the Kansas City Royals in last place and 26 games behind the Minnesota Twins in first place.
There is undoubtedly room for growth in the 2024 season because the White Sox have several players who did not perform up to par with their prior statistical achievements. Yoan Moncada, the third baseman, is one of such players. Throughout his time with the White Sox, he has been plagued by injuries on numerous occasions. Last season, he dealt with a back problem in addition to other bothersome ailments.
Moncada saw 357 plate appearances in just 92 games during the previous campaign. His slash line was.260/.305/.425 with 40 RBI and 11 home homers. Moncada is motivated to have a more successful season and to remain healthy in the approaching season.
