An MLB insider believes the Philadelphia Phillies are a team facing a make-or-break season.
The Philadelphia Phillies hope to move behind their NLCS loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, where they blew a 3-2 lead, and finish the job in 2024. Though the season was unfortunate to end, it was evident all season long that the Phillies had another level of performance.
The team was hindered by injuries, and Trea Turner was essentially nonexistent for the majority of the season. Turner’s output and health will determine how well Philadelphia performs the next season.
The Phillies, according to MLB.com’s Will Letich, are one of the six clubs that have a make-or-break season this year.
He said they might look back on last year’s defeat with sadness because it’s not often they get the chance to return to the World Series.
Whatever happens this season, Philadelphia will always rue their collapse last year. They missed out on a fantastic chance to qualify for the World Series in back-to-back seasons.
When it comes to the Phillies in 2024, the only thing to consider is the age of the roster. This is an older club, which raises concerns about whether this could be a make-or-break season even though it will be valuable in the postseason.
During the regular season, the Atlanta Braves were the best club in baseball, and the Los Angeles Dodgers made several major moves. Although the Dodgers have struggled in the postseason in the past, it would be astonishing to see them falter once more with this squad.
The Braves have high expectations as well, given their postseason meltdown.
The Philadelphia core needs to make the most of their remaining seasons together since they are not getting any younger.
