Mandarin (Florida) five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench reopened his recruitment in January
Five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench of Mandarin, Florida, committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide last summer, seemingly ending his recruitment process.
However, the explosive 6-foot-1, 185-pound player decommitted after legendary coach Nick Saban retired, making room for rival colleges to come in full force.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are one of those programs.
“I’m looking to visit March 30th, Student Day, and looking forward to seeing it more with them in my top 3,” he stated.
The “top three” section at the end is important.
In the class of 2025, Ffrench is ranked as the third receiver and the nation’s No. 12 overall prospect after finishing his junior year with 62 receptions for 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns.
He was selected for the All-American Bowl and named the “Alpha Dog” of the All-American Bowl National Combine by 247Sports in early January.
“Thankfully, someone located a pair of size 12.5 cleats for Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin, the top wide receiver, who French had not planned to work out for the event. With almost twelve touchdowns in the second one-on-one session, Ffrench was clearly the best of the rest. The large-framed pass catcher looked easy on several high-level grabs and had little trouble breaking loose from covering.”
The struggle is far from over as a number of other teams, including Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Miami, and Texas, are still putting a lot of effort into gaining Ffrench’s pledge.
