March 2 – The Boston Celtics defeated the visiting Dallas Mavericks 138-110 on Friday night, extending their winning streak to 10 games. Jayson Tatum overcame a poor start to score a team-high 32 points.
Tatum had two points after 17 minutes, but he ended up grabbing eight rebounds and going 10-for-19 from the field. Kristaps Porzingis scored 24 points, while Jaylen Brown contributed 25.
Out of 43 shots, Boston made 21 (48.8%) from beyond the 3-point arc. Tatum made five of his nine 3-point tries go in. Porzingis finished with four 3-pointers, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White with three apiece.
Leading the Mavericks with 37 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists was Luka Doncic. It was his tenth straight game with at least 25 points scored, and it was his 12th triple-double of the year.
Timberwolves 120, Kings 124 (OT)
With a season-high 39 points on 16 of 29 shooting, Malik Monk helped Sacramento defeat Minnesota in overtime in the Minneapolis arena.
For the Kings, Domantas Sabonis contributed 21 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists. Davion Mitchell finished with 16 points on 7 of 8 shots, and Keegan Murray finished with 17 points.
Leading the Timberwolves with 26 points from 9 of 11 shots was Jaden McDaniels. Rudy Gobert finished with 16 points and 16 rebounds, while Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 19 points.
Wizards 115, Clippers 140
Los Angeles easily defeated Washington in the second quarter, with James Harden scoring 21 of his 28 points in that period.
The Clippers had to forfeit the victory because in the second quarter Russell Westbrook broke his left hand. Paul George finished with 22 points and Kawhi Leonard scored 27 as the Clippers snapped their two-game losing streak that dates back to right before Christmas.
