According to reports, veteran guard Patty Mills is poised to join with the Miami Heat.
The Heat are expected to add a player in the late part of the season, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Since Kyle Lowry left the team at the trade deadline, the Heat have lacked depth at point guard this season. The only genuine point guard on the team is Terry Rozier, who was acquired in the trade for Lowry.
Additionally, the Heat have Tyler Herro, a combo guard, but he has been out of action lately due to a knee ailment. Mills has an abundance of postseason expertise.
Throughout his career, he has participated in 95 postseason games for the Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, and Brooklyn Nets. When the Spurs faced the Heat in the 2013 and 2014 NBA Finals, Mills was a guard for the Spurs.
Mills was formerly a member of the Atlanta Hawks. The Heat, who lost point guard Dru Smith to injury early in the season, had no trouble making the choice. The Heat will play the Detroit Pistons at Kaseya Center on Tuesday night.
