Defensive lineman Kentavius Street has signed with the Falcons, the organization announced on Monday.
Street spent the second part of the season in Atlanta before joining the Falcons again. In October 2023, the Falcons acquired Street in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, following Grady Jarrett’s season-ending knee injury. The Eagles received a 2024 sixth-round pick in exchange for Street and a 2025 seventh-round pick for the Falcons.
The contract was the Falcons’ first defensive signing since the start of the free agency period on Wednesday.
In 2023, the defensive tackle had five appearances for the Falcons, starting each one. Street had a total of 14 tackles in those five games, including four for a loss, one pass deflected, one fumble recovered, and one sack. Street played in eight games for the Eagles, making one start, prior to being traded to Atlanta.
The San Francisco 49ers made Street their first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. But, he tore his ACL on his pro day just before being selected, so he missed out on game action in his rookie season. Street was sidelined with an injury for the most of the 2019 campaign.
In 2020 and 2021, he finally saw meaningful playing time, and in his final season with the 49ers, he recorded three sacks. Following his signing with the New Orleans Saints in 2022, Street played in all 17 games. Before agreeing to a one-year contract with the Eagles in March 2023, he recorded 3.5 sacks for the Saints.
In 2024, Street rejoins the Falcons following a pectoral injury he sustained in the first part of December. With four games left in the 2023 season, Street suffered a season-ending injury and was placed on injured reserve.
