Juventus has been told that they cannot sell a single top player this summer, as Thiago Motta begins his new role in Turin.
Thiago Motta was being linked with some of Europe’s finest clubs following a fantastic tenure at Bologna, and the Italian giants won the race to sign the former midfielder.
According to HITC, the Italian club has begun the quest for fresh recruits to their roster, with a deal to bring Douglas Luiz to Juventus in the works.
Aston Villa could potentially acquire Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior in exchange for the Brazilian, but Juventus has been persuaded not to lose another crucial player.
Federico Chiesa’s contract at Turin expires in just 12 months, and HITC reports that Liverpool and Newcastle United are interested in the winger.
Chiesa’s entourage has done their due research, speaking with a number of English clubs to gauge their interest in the 26-year-old.
Former Juventus player Alessio Tacchinardi has encouraged the club to retain the Italian winger.
“If Juve sell Chiesa, for me they are making a mistake,” Tacchinardi told TuttoMercatoWeb. “Yes, he has breaks on the pitch, but he has a terrifying engine on an explosive level, in one-on-one he is unique and you have to give him freedom of action.
“At Juve they never saw the real Chiesa: first the competition with Ronaldo, then the injury, then Allegri’s tactical demands. Chiesa has always felt misunderstood, but he has enormous potential that is still unexpressed. And, for me, when you have a strong player in the team, you keep him.”
According to HITC, Chiesa’s representation and Juventus were in talks about a new contract, but the talks have halted.
The club hierarchy has made it obvious to Chiesa’s entourage that if he does not sign a new contract with Juventus this summer, he will be sold.
The English aren’t the only teams interested in the Italian; we understand Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are as well.
