After demonstrating their abilities in the top tier of English football, we fear losing several crucial pieces of our team.
Already, we’ve accepted that Ross Barkley will not be wearing a Luton Town shirt next season, with Aston Villa his destination; I’m concerned that others will follow.
Elijah Adebayo has been connected with a move to Turkish football with Fenerbahce in recent weeks, as we have previously reported, with the newest offering being – all silent on the striker front.
However, conjecture or a hint that a move may occur does not necessarily originate from a mainstream media source; more often than not, it comes from a committed fan who can read between the lines and predict what may / might happen.
Surfing social media this morning, I came across one such situation, with the poster, in my opinion, coming up with a perfectly acceptable scenario.
focuses on the news that Everton may be about to split ways with their key striker, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with Newcastle United being identified as a destination.
Now, as the social media comment (above) points out, Everton would need to find a replacement and may, quite correctly, look into a move for our joint top scorer from last season.
Now, whether such a move would appeal to Elijah remains to be seen, but if the money Everton might offer proves irresistible, it would be a great return on the amount Luton Town paid Walsall for his services back in February 2021, even if it would be difficult to recruit a replacement, or would it be the perfect opportunity for the likes of Joe Taylor or John McAtee, both of whom were out on loan last season, to claim a place in the starting XI?
