Tottenham Hotspur seek to make their first signing of the summer, after closing talks with a Euro 2024 star.
Tottenham Hotspur are poised to make their first signing of the summer following fruitful discussions.
That’s according to rumors who indicate that the Lilywhites are prepared for manager Ange Postecoglou’s first buy of the summer. Postecoglou has transformed his squad over the last year and is reportedly looking to add depth to his squad by bringing in players such as James Maddison.
While Tottenham needs to improve several positions, one Euro 2024 star appears to be the first to arrive in north London.
According to Turkish outlet Aslinda, Poland international Sebastian Szymanski has agreed to personal terms before signing a four-year contract with Spurs.
Chairman Daniel Levy will have to enhance his €17.5 million bid if he wants to reach an agreement with Fenerbahce. It was initially believed by TeamTalk that the Pole would cost £30m.
Szymanski is currently at the Euros with Poland, having moved to the Super Lig last year. The midfield dynamo can fit in alongside Maddison but could be used as depth in the centre of the park, too.
According to FourFourTwo, the 25-year-old is nearly finished, with only a fee to be agreed upon for his transfer. While this may be a sticking issue, as it has been with Spurs in the past, Szymanski is affordable enough for Spurs fans to expect him largely as depth.
With a contract in place with the star, the move may be imminent.
