Arsenal has reportedly lost out on Leeds United teenager Archie Grey, who is close to joining Brentford.
Grey has recently been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea. One of the London clubs was anticipated to sign him.
However, these clubs have been focused with other transfer conversations and plan to pursue Grey later in the transfer season. This delay has cost Grey dearly, as The Sun says that he is now scheduled to have a medical at Brentford.
The Bees have agreed to pay £35 million for the youthful talent, and the transaction is anticipated to be completed over the weekend.
Grey performed well last season, and we knew it was just a matter of time until he switched teams, so this is not surprising.
It is a positive move for him and, most likely, for us because he can now demonstrate his ability to play in the Premier League, and we can recruit him as a more developed player later on.
We would have had no chance of getting him if he had joined a bigger Premier League team.
