The Eagles won’t have many holes to fill as the NFL’s free agency period gets underway.

Dallas Goedert’s future with the Eagles is uncertain as NFL free agency kicks into full gear.

The Eagles tight end, who is under contract for another year, has been dangled on the trade market, NFL sources told The Inquirer.

Goedert’s departure from Philadelphia isn’t a foregone conclusion. He’s under contract for next season, but he would need to agree to a restructure — one likely with a pay cut — to return for 2025, a source said.

Jalen Hurts, the Philadelphia Eagles’ star quarterback, signed a five-year contract extension worth $255 million, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history at that time. This deal includes $179.304 million in total guarantees, with $110 million fully guaranteed at signing, and features a no-trade clause—the first in Eagles’ history

The contract also includes up to $15 million in incentives, potentially bringing the total value to $274.304 million through 2028. Hurts’ performance on the field has been exceptional, leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl appearance and earning a Pro Bowl selection. His dedication and maturity have been praised by team owner Jeffrey Lurie, who described him as “the most mature 24-year-old I’ve ever come across”

While there have been no reports of a new seven-year contract extension for Hurts, his current deal ensures his presence with the Eagles through the 2028 season. Given his continued success and leadership, it’s plausible that future discussions could lead to further contract negotiations beyond 2028
