Brentford has been closely following Palmeiras prodigy Luís Guilherme, according to a report from Brazil.
The 18-year-old is a product of the club’s junior system, having made his way into the main team in 2023. Since then, he’s made 43 appearances, mostly as a substitute, scoring a goal and providing an assist.
Guilherme has sparked attention from a number of clubs, including Brentford. That is according to Nosso Palestra, who say the Bees are ‘interested in signing’ him during the summer window.
It is also stated that Thomas Frank’s team has approached the Brazilian club. They have not officially submitted a proposal, but are ‘considering making an offer’ for the teenager’s services.
Brentford approached Palmeiras to better understand Guilherme’s condition before making a prospective offering.
The attacker’s contract is valid until 2026, and according to the article, it includes a €55 million release clause. They make no mention of the fee Brentford is considering offering, and it is unlikely that they will come close to meeting his buyout clause.
Guilherme turned 18 earlier this year and will be able to travel to Europe immediately if Brentford and Palmeiras reach an agreement.
