Nicolas Kuhn, Celtic winger, has explained how his move to Glasgow will help him achieve one of his major sporting goals.
Kuhn has been in and out of the starting lineup since his £3 million move from Rapid Vienna, despite scoring on his debut against Aberdeen in a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie.
Kuhn has three goals and three assists in 18 appearances, but if he is to attain his next career goal, he must significantly improve on that performance.
The former Rapid Vienna winger definitely possesses natural talent and explosive speed. In my perspective, he only needs to gain confidence in the last third, and then we’ll see the best in him.
However, the Hoops winger has revealed that he is about to fulfil a dream at Celtic, which he thinks will lead to him getting capped by Germany someday.
Kuhn told the Daily Record, “That is incredibly significant for me. My performance in youth national teams over the years speaks for itself. I’ve also always like wearing the German jersey.
“When we were fighting against relegation at Aue in Bundesliga 2 a few years ago, I said in an interview that my next goal was to play in the Champions League and return to the German team.
“Well, I hope to fulfil that one big dream next season with Celtic. The goal after that is clear to me…the German national team.”
Kuhn had been involved in the German youth international scene for several years as he rose through the ranks of football.
Kuhn has 32 caps and 15 goals between the U15 and U20 levels. Kuhn had his most successful time with the U17s, scoring seven goals in 12 games. [Transfermarkt]
However, when it comes to the German national team, Kuhn will face players like Kai Havertz, Toni Kroos, and Niclas Fullkrug.
If Kuhn can join those guys in the squad, it can only be excellent news for Celtic, as he will be performing at the greatest level for the club both domestically and in Europe.
