Jordan scoffed when Jim White asked if Scotland’s role was a good one, drawing a disparaging comparison to England.
Simon Jordan has savaged Scottish football in a scattergun attack on the sport north of the border.
The talkSPORT co-host had recently filed an appeal for the Wales post after it was revealed that Rob Page had been fired as national team manager. They were eliminated from Euro 2024 and laboured to a goalless draw against Gibraltar in a recent friendly before being thrashed 4-0 by Slovakia, indicating Page’s end.
Jordan questioned why a high-profile boss would contemplate taking over. When morning show host Jim White asked if the Scotland job was a good one, the mouth Londoner launched a brutal attack on the Scottish Premiership, Celtic, and Rangers, focusing on the much-maligned TV deal negotiated by SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster. When questioned about the highest job in the country, Jordan responded, “In contrast to what? A proper job in England?
“Scottish football ins’t exactly in the rudest of health. They have a Scottish Premiership that my mate Rod Stewart seems to think is worth encouraging, but I don’t. A broadcast deal that has no value and two teams at the top of the pyramid who can’t even get fans in their own stadiums.
“They don’t have the talent coming through like the Sounesses, Hansens or a Kenny Dalglish. It’s not a bad job but if want me to say it’s a great job, I won’t.”
