Chelsea continues to appear busy in the summer transfer window, as they attempt to boost their squad for a Champions League qualification push under new manager Enzo Maresca, who is in his first Premier League season.
The Blues have already made several moves, including bringing Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to the club, who is familiar with Maresca from his time at Leicester last season, and are continuing to scour the market for intelligent purchases to improve the overall quality of the squad.
The arrival of Dewsbury-Hall should provide an element of safety and familiarity at the start of Maresca’s reign, as Chelsea will be looking to get off to a fast start under their new manager after gradually showing indications of improvement towards the conclusion of last season.
Chelsea had previously signed Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham on a free transfer when his contract expired.
This is another clever signing to improve the club’s defensive options, following a Premier League record of 63 goals conceded previous season, the ninth worst in the league.
