The Blues have attempted to complete much of their business early this summer in order to provide the best opportunity for success for new manager Enzo Maresca.
However, the process of bringing in a number of young players to continue the initiative under Todd Boehly has not yet ended. They’ve already announced the signing of Estevao Willian.
It was always going to be interesting to watch how much influence new manager Maresca had on which young players came into the club.
However, according to rumors, he is a huge fan of Barcelona striker Marc Guiu and has led the club’s latest bid to sign the player who has been dubbed ‘unstoppable’.
Now, Fabrizio Romano claims on Twitter that the Blues have successfully finished his physical, implying that a formal announcement to bring him in is forthcoming.
He stated: “Marc Guiu finished medical examinations as a new Chelsea player tonight in London!
“The release clause worth €6m has been paid, Barça have been informed with formal document.
“Guiu signs as new Chelsea player on deal valid until June 2030. Here we go, now confirmed.”
Despite the fact that he is still a young player, it is expected that the striker will have the opportunity to showcase his abilities at the first team level this summer.
It has been suggested that he may not be the only striker to arrive this summer, with the new boss eager to provide some competition for Nicolas Jackson.
However, the Senegalese player appears to be on track to start the season at the top, following a very strong Premier League debut.
However, it does not appear to be a very large monetary addition to the squad, cutting out the possibility of Victor Osimhen joining at this stage.
