Known for her fierce play, competitive spirit, and larger-than-life personality, Reese shared that she has been diagnosed with a serious health condition, and after careful consideration, she has made the difficult decision to step away from basketball for the foreseeable future in order to focus on her recovery.

“I never imagined I would be in this position,” Reese began, her voice filled with emotion. “Over the past few weeks, I’ve been dealing with some health concerns that have required tests, specialists, and a lot of time for reflection. After speaking with my doctors, family, and those closest to me, I have been diagnosed with a medical condition that requires my full attention and time away from the game. This has been one of the toughest decisions of my life, but I know that stepping away from basketball right now is the best thing for my health.”

The specifics of Reese’s medical condition have not been disclosed, but it is clear that the situation is serious and requires significant time for treatment and recovery. The decision to announce the news publicly was one that Reese did not take lightly, but she expressed gratitude for the love and support she has received from both her teammates and the fans who have followed her journey.

“I’ve always been open with my fans, and I felt that it was important to share this with all of you,” she said, pausing for a moment to compose herself. “I’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to play the game I love at the highest level, and to have built such a strong connection with all of you. Right now, though, I need to take a step back and focus on my health. Basketball will always be a part of me, but my well-being has to come first.”

Reese’s announcement has sent shockwaves through the sports community, especially given the incredible season she has been having with the LSU Tigers. The 6-foot-3 forward has been one of the most dominant players in women’s college basketball, helping lead her team to numerous victories with her exceptional scoring, rebounding, and leadership. Known for her versatility and unmatched work ethic, Reese had quickly become one of the faces of the sport, with aspirations of a professional career in the WNBA.

“Angel is a tremendous athlete, a fierce competitor, and a beloved teammate,” said LSU head coach Kim Mulkey in a statement. “This is heartbreaking news for all of us, but we fully support Angel in her decision. She’s shown incredible strength on and off the court, and we will stand by her as she focuses on her health. The entire LSU family is behind her, and we are sending our love and positive thoughts as she begins this journey.”

The LSU Tigers’ coaching staff and teammates were visibly emotional upon hearing the news, as Reese had become a central figure not just in their game strategy but in their team dynamics. While her absence will be deeply felt on the court, Reese’s strength and resilience off the court are equally admired. Her commitment to her teammates and her passion for the game have made her one of the most inspiring athletes in recent memory.

As for her fans, they expressed their heartbreak and support for the young star on social media, with many flooding her posts with messages of love, encouragement, and hope. Reese has built a loyal and passionate following through her play and her outspoken personality, and her fans have rallied behind her during this challenging time.

“I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout this journey,” Reese said, her voice stronger now, but still touched with emotion. “This isn’t goodbye to basketball, it’s just a pause. I’m going to fight this with everything I have, and I promise I’ll be back as soon as I’m able. Your support means the world to me, and I can’t wait to return to the court when the time is right.”

While the road ahead for Angel Reese may be uncertain, there is no doubt that she has the strength and determination to face this challenge head-on. Sabbath formed the year I was born, first song I learned on guitar was Sweet L3af, saw Ozzy in ‘82 just after the plane crash, countless Ozfest’s, 1998 reunion show, etc etc….. I’ve seen a lot of fans talking about what band was uninvited, or who didn’t live up to the hype, or which band shouldn’t have been there… I watched the entire show and, for me, the lifetime soundtrack was as touching and meaningful as a McCartney concert…

Ever since I first heard him on the Bark At The Moon album, I’ve been a huge fan Of Jake E. Lee. I’ve seen him play with Ozzy twice, Badlands once and his solo band 3 or 4 times and have met him twice. He is one of the nicest, humblest people you can ever be lucky to meet.
