Quinn Ewers breaks silence after inking new two-year contract with….

Steve Sarkisian contradicts himself with comments on Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers drama after Georgia loss

ast week could not have gone worse for the Texas Longhorns. Heading into Conference Championship week, Steve Sarkisian’s side was the second-best team in the nation. All they had to do was beat the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship to secure a bye in the College Football Playoff and retain their No. 2 seed. Instead, their boogeyman struck again.

Georgia came out victorious despite losing their starting quarterback, Carson Beck. Making matters even worse than the loss was the never-ending quarterback controversy intensifying. Despite Quinn Ewers throwing for 358 yards, he threw two interceptions and only led the offense to 16 points in regulation. His streaky performance had many fans and analysts calling for Arch Manning to get a look during the game, and possibly start over Ewers in the Playoff.

Sarkisian will likely stick with Ewers when it comes down to actually making a decision ahead of their first round game against Clemson. But Sarkisian made a comment right after losing to Georgia that has fans wondering if he realizes he kind of contradicted himself.

So Sarkisian saw firsthand what a change at quarterback did for Georgia in the game against Texas. Instead of doing the same with Manning, he chose to ride a struggling Ewers despite the turnovers.

Even if Ewers starts against Clemson, Sarkisian’s comments may give some hope that Manning will at least see some playing time. The offense needs a spark and Manning can give it to them in various ways.
