With the month of July being upon us, it is encouraging to see that transfer speculation involving our team is picking up.
Already today (Tuesday), we covered the Hatters’ apparent interest in Crystal Palace duo Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and David Ozoh – a double-swoop – but The Sun is reporting that the Hatters may also be looking to bring Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien to Kenilworth Road.
O’Brien, who is on Nottingham Forest’s roster, has struggled since joining the Premier League team from Huddersfield Town in 2022.
After joining Nottingham Forest, O’Brien was unable to earn a position in the starting XI and was loaned out to DC United until the conclusion of the 2022/2023 season.
When O’Brien returned to his parent club, Nottingham Forest had bought a plethora of players, therefore he was deemed surplus to requirements and was loaned to Middlesbrough in the EFL Championship for the entirety of last season.
Given his previous history, I’d expect the 25-year-old would be eager to restart his career and would be interested in a stint at Kenilworth Road, where the left-footed midfielder would fit neatly into one of the midfield spaces left vacant by the departures of Luke Berry and Ross Barkley.
However, according to our source, there may be a slew of other clubs interested in signing Lewis, with Norwich City being one of them.
But do you think O’Brien would be a good addition to our squad?
