Michael Olise’s future as a Crystal Palace attacker appears to be in doubt this summer, with several major clubs interested in the Frenchman.
Michael Olise, who joined Crystal Palace from Reading, has continued to develop season after season for the South London club, and last season was no exception.
This has sparked interest from several major clubs, with HITC stating that Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea had made the initial step and approached the Eagles.
Olise has a relatively modest release clause placed in his contract at the club and this has attracted the curiosity of numerous elite sides.
Don Hutchinson, speaking on ESPN FC Extra Time, was asked whether Olise should transfer to Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford this summer, but he advised the winger to reject these offers.
“Neither,” Hutchinson said. “(I’d say) Newcastle. Newcastle have been linked with him today, right. They might have to sell Almiron for this PSR thing that I can’t understand, but I take Newcastle all day long.”
Chelsea are said to be discussing whether to conduct a player exchange to expedite a deal, but it is unclear whether they would accept such an offer.
As for Newcastle, HITC knows that Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White is a target, as is Olise.
Newcastle’s need for attacking depth is evident, and the club will want to complete a deal for one of their main targets, Wolves’ Pedro Neto.
In terms of Olise, it appears that Chelsea is the favourite to sign the Frenchman and hopes to complete the transaction as soon as possible.
