Earlier this month, we covered rumours from Italy that Atalanta rejected a €40 million bid from Newcastle United for Éderson in the winter transfer window.
Newcastle have not forgotten about the midfielder, according to a new report from Tutto Juve.
Éderson José dos Santos has been a regular for the Serie A club and was instrumental in helping La Dea win the Europa League this season. He made 52 appearances in all competitions, and his excellent form earned him his first callup from Brazil, for the Copa América.
His’stellar performance’ in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen has prompted other clubs, especially Newcastle, to take note.
Juventus is the 24-year-old’s Italian suitor, but he has also ‘attracted interest’ from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The South American has more than three years left on his contract, and Gian Piero Gasperini’s side ‘will assess’ his sale in the next window, assuming an offer of at least €40 million.
This is the identical amount that Eddie Howe’s team is alleged to have given to Atalanta in January, and if they return with the same offer, Newcastle might sign the midfielder.
