Lee Starkey, daughter of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, has faced significant health challenges in her life, notably battling brain cancer twice. Born on November 11, 1970, Lee grew up in the public eye as the daughter of one of the world’s most famous musicians. In 1994, Lee faced a personal tragedy when her mother, Maureen Starkey, passed away from leukemia at the age of 48. Lee had been her mother’s primary caregiver during her illness, a role that deeply affected her. Shortly after her mother’s death, Lee experienced health issues herself, leading to the discovery of a brain tumor. Diagnosed with a rare form known as ependymoma, she underwent surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where the tumor was successfully removed. Following the surgery, Lee received radiation therapy as part of her treatment

Tragically, in 2001, Lee’s cancer returned. Tests revealed another ependymoma tumor, prompting a second round of treatment at the same Boston hospital. Once again, she underwent surgery and radiation therapy, demonstrating remarkable resilience throughout the ordeal .(angelfire.com)

Despite these challenges, Lee has led a fulfilling life. She is married to musician Jay Mehler, and together they have triplets: sons Smokey and Jakamo, and daughter Ruby Tiger. The family has been seen attending public events, showcasing their close-knit bond . Lee’s journey is a testament to her strength and determination, overcoming personal and health-related obstacles to build a life filled with love and creativity.
