Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese has put a stop to the gossip that romantically linked her with NBA All-Star Kevin Durant.

The WNBA rookie was at the centre of relationship rumors with Durant after they were seen sitting side by side during a Team USA women’s basketball exhibition game against Germany.

On her new podcast Unapologetically Angel Reese set the record straight, explaining that Durant was actually there with Golden State Warriors legend Steph Curry, while she attended with a friend.

“That was never a thing,” Reese declared. “I don’t even know how that even became a thing because I sat next to somebody. My friend was sitting next to Steph [Curry]. I don’t even get that. I don’t even know where that came from.”

Reese, who had previously been seen with Chicago rapper G Herbo in his Tesla Cybertruck, sparking more speculation, stressed that she and Durant were simply watching the game and their seating arrangement was coincidental. As both hail from the Washington metropolitan area, the 22-year-old emphasized her admiration for the Phoenix Suns player.

“KD has been my favorite player since I was a kid and is still my favorite player,” Reese continued. “He’s from the DMV, I love his mom, she comes out and supports the game.”

Reese’s podcast is her latest venture as she capitalizes on her growing fame. She’s teamed up with NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal’s “The Big Podcast Network”, operating under Playmaker HQ, joining a squad of big names like Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart’s “The Roommates Show” and “The OGs” starring Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller.

Reese has been smashing it with the Sky, keeping them in contention for the playoffs after her smooth transition from college hoops. She’s averaging a solid double-double this season with 13.3 points and 13.2 rebounds a match.
