Exclusive: Stevenage agree deal to sign Wolves star Chem Campbell

Stevenage have agreed a deal to sign Wolves winger Chem Campbell, sources have told Football Insider.

Campbell, 22, found himself down the pecking order at Wolves and spent last season on loan at Reading.

The Molineux academy product was named on the Premier League club’s retained list last week as under contract.

But in a new twist, Wolves have agreed to let Campbell cancel his deal at Molineux a year early – with a sell-on included as he completes a move to Stevenage.

The former Wales youth international made 42 appearances across all competitions for Reading in the 2024-25 campaign.

He hit seven goals and notched five assists as the Royals narrowly missed out on a play-off berth.

Campbell has also had loan spells in League One with Charlton Athletic and Wycombe Wanderers and is joining his fourth third-tier side in Stevenage.

The winger made eight senior appearances during his time with Wolves – with six of those outings coming in the Premier League.

Stevenage finished 14th in League One in the 2024-25 campaign under manager Alex Revell, who was overseeing his first full season back at the club.

Wolves set sights on Sunderland star’

Meanwhile, Wolves are reportedly keen on Sunderland full-back Trai Hume with Nelson Semedo set to depart this summer.

Rayan Ait-Nouri has already left Molineux to join Pep Guardiola’s Man City ahead of the Club World Cup later this month.

Hume, who will play Premier League football with Sunderland next term after helping them to promotion, has also been linked with Everton and a number of La Liga clubs.
