Good News: Catalans has just confirmed another major deal…..

Three former Super League players will team up in Australia as the newest addition is a former Man of Steel.

Former Man of Steel Ben Barba will join former Super League players Kenny Edwards and Manu Ma’u at Mackay & District Rugby League team Souths Sharks in 2025. The Sharks, who are based in Queensland, had previously declared that they had signed Edwards and Ma’u for the next season.

Edwards, 35, made more than 100 appearances in the Super League while wearing the jerseys of the Castleford Tigers, Huddersfield Giants, and Catalans Dragons. Prior to declaring his retirement from competition in April, he was playing for Mackay Cutters and had won the Challenge Cup with the Dragons. However, he is now a player-assistant coach with the Sharks. Prior to spending two years with Catalans and playing in the 2023 Grand Final, former Tonga and New Zealand international Ma’u made 47 appearances for Hull FC.
