Good News: Missouri Tigers Coach Reacts as Netflix Releases Documentary on Two Key Players After Breakout Season

Columbia, MO — In a moment of pride for the University of Missouri and its athletic program, head football coach Eliah Drinkwitz is celebrating the national spotlight shining on his team. Netflix has officially released a highly anticipated documentary chronicling the inspiring journey of two of the Missouri Tigers’ standout players, wide receiver Luther Burden III and quarterback Brady Cook, following their breakout 2024 season.

Titled “Show Me the Way: The Tigers’ Rise,” the documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at the lives, struggles, and triumphs of the dynamic duo who helped lead Missouri to one of its most successful seasons in recent memory. With emotional interviews, exclusive locker room footage, and personal stories of grit and perseverance, the film is already gaining attention across social media platforms and football communities nationwide.

Coach Drinkwitz couldn’t hide his pride as he addressed reporters during a media event on campus Thursday. “This is more than just a win for Mizzou Football—it’s a win for every young athlete who dreams big,” he said. “Luther and Brady have shown what hard work, humility, and leadership look like. The fact that their story is being told on a global platform like Netflix is incredible.”

The 2024 season was historic for the Tigers, with the team finishing 11-2 and securing a top-10 ranking for the first time in over a decade. Cook, in his junior year, threw for over 3,800 yards and 32 touchdowns, showing remarkable growth under center. Burden, his favorite target, dazzled fans with game-changing catches and led the SEC in receiving yards. Their chemistry on the field turned them into one of the most exciting offensive tandems in college football.

The documentary also highlights their bond off the field—late-night film sessions, early-morning workouts, and the unwavering support they showed each other through injuries, media pressure, and high expectations.

“It’s surreal,” said Burden in the documentary’s opening episode. “We were just two kids trying to prove we belonged. Now the world gets to see our journey.”

Coach Drinkwitz believes the exposure from Netflix will have a lasting impact not only on recruitment but also on the university as a whole. “When you combine talent with character, and then add a platform like this, you inspire a whole generation. This is the kind of moment that elevates a program and tells the world what Missouri is about.”

Fans have taken to social media with excitement, using hashtags like #ShowMeTheWay and #MizzouPride to share their reactions and favorite moments from the documentary.

As for what’s next, both Cook and Burden are eyeing the NFL, but for now, they remain committed to finishing their college journey strong. “We’ve still got more to prove,” Cook says in the final scene. “And this is just the beginning.”

With the Tigers’ success and the added attention from Netflix, it seems that Missouri’s roar is being heard louder than ever before.
