I’M Leaving and i promise never to return: Caitlin Clark announce after she…

Caitlin Clark warned leaving Iowa for WNBA Draft would 'kill momentum' - Mirror OnlineThe Indiana Fever guard’s words come after a star left the WNBA following remarks on the Iowa Hawkeyes’ product and the league commissioner.

The 22-year-old Clark saw her first campaign come to an end after the Fever lost to the Connecticut Sun in the playoffs.

A week after the postseason exit, Clark posted a message on Instagram to thank her fanbase.

“Year one,” the NCAA all-time leading scorer wrote along with a green tick emoji.

“Thank you to the many people who have supported me as I’ve been able to live my childhood dream.

“I’m filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year of my life.

‘See you all in year two.”

Clark’s social media post comes after Seattle Storm forward Gabby Williams chose to play overseas in Europe.

Williams was only under contract through this year as her former team Storm was eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of the WNBA playoffs.

Last month, she made headlines after refuting a statement made by WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

The head of the league claimed that players can make up to $700,000 per year.

Molly Qerim called out for ‘hypocritical’ Caitlin Clark comments on First Take as viewers spot her conflicting remarks

Williams took issue with Engelbert’s stance.

“That’s actually not true at all. There’s not one player who makes that.

“We were promised team marketing agreements and league marketing agreements, but they’ve fallen quite short.

“So it’s still not enough for us international players to want to stay here. And that’s a choice of the players.
