Dodgers News: Max Muncy Reveals What Andrew Friedman Told Him Amid Trade Rumors

Max Muncy’s name was constantly brought up in the days following the MLB trade deadline.

With the St. Louis Cardinals being big sellers in this year’s market, names like Jordan Montgomery, Jack Flaherty, Jordan Hicks, and Paul DeJong have all moved out of Mound City and are now finding homes with the teams that traded for them.

An even bigger name was rumored to potentially be dealed by Tuesday, and that is Nolan Arenado. Packages were being talked about and one of the names included in these deals was the Dodgers power-hitting third baseman.

However, as those rumors came about, the Dodgers front office was quick to stomp out the smoke surrounding a move that would ship away the 32-year-old veteran.

While the Dodgers were still active before the deadline, acquiring players like Kiké Hernandez, Amed Rosario, Lance Lynn, Joe Kelly, and Ryan Yarbrough, Friedman made sure to keep their home run-hitting lefty at ease.

While Muncy is not hitting for average batting a less-than-desirable .193 average, his impact is made through the way of the long ball, hitting 27 home runs on the year and still walking an incredible 15.7% of the time at the plate. The now-aged veteran still has an OPS over .800 and is able to change the game with a swing of the bat.

Muncy is here to stay and he is ready to help the Dodgers win another World Series.
