LOCKED IN TILL 2029: Dylan Sampson Re-sign officially with Bulldogs on a five years deal worth $476.9 Million, He is fully welcome..
We are getting ready for the biggest game of the year. That’s right, No. 6 Tennessee will be heading to Athens this weekend to face No. 11 Georgia. Will a trip to the College Football Playoff be on the line for both of these teams? We think so.
Having said that, there’s no question the Vols and Josh Heupel are going to continue to rely on elite running back Dylan Sampson, who’s in the middle of a historic campaign for the Vols. Last week against Mississippi State, Sampson posted 30 carries for 149 yards and a touchdown.
On the season, he has 1,129 yards and 20 touchdowns to his name, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. Would you believe it if you were informed that he’s actually single-handedly better than the entire Georgia RBs room in those departments? Well, it’s true:
This is something Kirby Smart surely has in mind as he gets his defense ready for this battle. College GameDay will be in town, only adding to the excitement for this SEC rivalry. Sampson is going to be ready to ball out, while also hoping to take care of the football.
The star RB has fumbled in three straight games, which has been disappointing to see. However, it hasn’t stopped him from bouncing back and balling out following that turnover. He’s going to have to take care of the pigskin against Georgia’s defense.
Smart knows what a great talent Sampson is – Georgia is going to have a difficult time trying to contain him in this primetime meeting. Once Saturday night gets here, all eyes will be on Sampson, especially if Nico Iamaleava is unable to go due to his concussion. If Sampson needs to take charge and be the go-to option on offense, he’ll be confident in his game to step up for his team as a whole.
