247Sports released an article detailing 11 players primed to breakout in the next college football season, including Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
One of the athletes that has generated the most talk this offseason is Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava. Under head coach Josh Heupel, quarterback Hendon Hooker of the University of Tennessee set the standard for what a signal caller can do. Many appear to think that Iamaleava can surpass that standard.
Brad Crawford, a national analyst for 247Sports, identified the 11 upcoming “rising stars” in college football to give an early look at the upcoming season. Iamaleava was one of eleven featured, and the gifted California gunslinger’s national profile is just becoming higher. In a crowded SEC quarterback scenario, he has an opportunity to stand out, which is already rather significant.
“The former five-star prospect has an opportunity to rank among the best players in the SEC at the position. Considering Quinn Ewers, Carson Beck, and Jaxson Dart are all back after stellar seasons for top-10 teams, that says something. This season, Iamaleava will have the opportunity to surpass other highly-regarded quarterbacks, and with his talent level and the returners at receiver for the Vols, he should excel.” Regarding Nico Iamaleava, Brad Crawford
