They concluded their efforts in Philadelphia with a resounding 6-2 victory, following the Flyers’ celebration of a player who was crucial to the Bruins’ 2011 Stanley Cup victory.
Yes, the All-Star break is still early, the postseason is in its second year, and six more teams have a chance to win the Stanley Cup.
Who knew? The Boston Bruins are the only NHL team with fewer than 10 regulation losses after 49 games (9).
The Bruins have a chance to win this tournament even without Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Taylor Hall, Dmitry Orlov, Tyler Bertuzzi, Tomas Nosek, Connor Clifton, and Garnet Hathaway.
On February 6, Edmonton Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch (26-6-0) will attempt to tie the Mario Penguins’ record of 17 straight wins from 1992–1993. The Oilers had won 16 straight games. But the Vancouver Canucks (33-11-5) are the only team that is able to match the Boston Bruins’ pace. Could you imagine if…
The Bruins and Celtics are leading their respective leagues at the same time for the second consecutive winter. However, they have only ever advanced to their respective championship series in the same spring once in history (1974). It would be great fun if it happened again fifty years later.
I’m going to soak it all in and make the most of it.

I managed to watch the conclusion of Friday night’s Penguins vs. Panthers game, and when they cut to commercial, the music played was the same as NESN’s Bruins outro. That’s my way of stating that things at Fenway Sports Group have become pretty strange.
Not that I enjoy their situation, but it’s been a bit surreal to witness how a generation of New England supporters has been spoiled by the first two decades of the twenty-first century. Most of the time, they are unable to recognize how fortunate they have been.
I first saw that there are now people in their 30s who have never held a newspaper, and then I noticed folks with gray hair who had never changed a tire, much less a water pump. These observations were made early in this 20-year period. We can now add this one: there are supporters in their 30s who, up until today, have never seen the Red Sox or Patriots like this.
To be honest, I never got used to all the winning. As Red Sox fans of the 20th century, we connected with the seasons of 1967, 1975, 1978, and 1986, of course. Thus, everything that transpired throughout the 15-year span from 2003 to 2018 still seems surreal.
