Brad Marchand, the captain of the Boston Bruins, showed up at TD Garden on Monday afternoon for the Dallas Stars game donning a unique jacket.
Prior to the puck drop, Marchand will receive recognition for achieving the 1,000 game played mark. In the team’s loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning last week, he reached 1,000 games in his career.
The seasoned left wing wore a vintage-looking, custom-made gold and white jacket from Jeanius Jackets, replete with a traditional Bruins emblem. On the back, it also had his last name and the number “1000”.
Marchand is the eighth member of the Bruins roster to have played in 1,000 or more games. Prior to Marchand, the most recent additions to that group were David Krejci (2023) and Patrice Bergeron (2019).
For the Bruins, the 35-year-old forward is having an incredible season. With 25 goals and 50 points in 55 games, he is the second player on the team.
