The Cleveland guard recorded nine points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal in the East All-Stars’ 211-186 win on Sunday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers took part in four NBA All-Star Weekend competitions in 2024.
The Wine and Gold were represented in the 2024 NBA Panini Rising Stars and the 2024 NBA G League Up Next Game by Two-Way rookie Emoni Bates.
Donovan Mitchell participated in the 2024 NBA Starry Three-Point Contest in between these two competitions.
Ultimately, the 27-year-old participated in the weekend’s major event, leading the East All-Stars to an NBA All-Star Game record-breaking triumph of 211-186. In the Eastern Conference’s first victory in the All-Star Game since 2014, he finished with nine points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Mitchell made all of his field goal tries from three-point range, going 3-for-9 (33.3%) from the field.
He made his way into the game in the first quarter, scoring two rebounds, one assist, and a steal while making one of his three efforts from beyond the arc. The next period saw Mitchell grab two more rebounds and make his lone three-point shot.
The five-time defending All-Star missed both of his deep shots in the third quarter, making him one of just three players without a point. Mitchell did, however, register an assist and a rebound. In the last minute, he made one of his three three-point tries and grabbed two more rebounds.
Mitchell finished with the third-highest plus/minus of any player, at +15. With 16:05, he played the second-fewest minutes of any player on the East All-Star team, only surpassed by Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young’s 14:28.
Next, on Thursday, February 22, the Cavaliers will host the Orlando Magic at 7 p.m. Mitchell is scheduled to suit up once more for the team.
