On Monday, the Philadelphia 76ers, who were hosting, defeated the Houston Rockets 124-115 thanks to 41 points and 10 rebounds from Joel Embiid.
Due to knee and ankle problems, Embiid had missed seven of the previous nine games, including the last three. Upon his comeback on Monday, he recorded his 17th consecutive game of at least 30 points and his 16th consecutive game of at least 30 points and 10 rebounds. Furthermore, this season, Embiid scored 40 points for the eighth time.
For the Sixers, Tyrese Maxey added 27 points, Patrick Beverley added 11, and Tobias Harris added 10.
With 20 points, Jalen Green led the Rockets, and Alperen Sengun chipped in with 19 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. With every reserve playing, Houston attempted a last-ditch effort, but the outcome was already set.
Warriors 107, Grizzlies 116
After Draymond Green returned to the court, Vince Williams Jr. and GG Jackson scored career-high points, Stephen Curry made two backcourt errors during a crucial fourth-quarter sequence, and Memphis triumphed over visiting Golden State.
The Grizzlies, who made 60 points from 3-point range and 32 from free throws, had 24 points from Williams and 23 from Jackson off the bench. Despite missing several players, including Marcus Smart, Desmond Bane, and Ja Morant, Memphis was able to snap a two-game losing streak.
With Green returned for his 16th game after missing the first 12 due to an NBA ban, Curry led the Warriors with game highs of 26 points and eight assists. Green, who came off the bench, ended in twenty-four minutes with seven points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
Pelicans 120, Mavericks 125
Tim Hardaway Jr. shot nine 3-pointers and scored 41 points, while Kyrie Irving scored 42 points to lead shorthanded Dallas over visiting New Orleans.
The Mavericks, sans Luka Doncic (foot), Dante Exum (plantar fascia), and Derrick Jones Jr. (calf), were able to outscore New Orleans 33–21 in the fourth quarter thanks to Josh Green’s 13 points and Dereck Lively II’s 12 rebounds.
The Pelicans were led by Zion Williamson, who scored 30 points. McCollum CJ had 23. With 17.7 seconds remaining, Dallas led 121-120 after Williamson made 1 of 2 free throws, giving New Orleans a chance to tie the game. With 6.3 seconds left, Brandon Ingram missed a potential 3-pointer that would have tied the game.
Knicks 94, Magic 98
Orlando overcome a seven-point fourth-quarter hole to defeat host New York thanks to a six-point surge by Cole Anthony in the last 6:30.
For the Magic, who had trailed by as many as 11 points in the third quarter before ending a three-game losing streak, Paolo Banchero scored five of his team-high twenty points during a game-ending 17–6 rally.
Jalen Brunson, who missed his second straight game due to a sore calf, was replaced by Miles McBride, who led the Knicks with a career-high 20 points. For New York, which has lost two of three after going on a five-game winning streak, OG Anunoby contributed 17 points.
Wizards 117, Pistons 129
Detroit defeated host Washington to end a seven-game losing streak. Coming off the bench, Alec Burks tied his career high of 34 points while Jalen Duren matched his career best of 19 rebounds.
Detroit entered the game without a road win since defeating Charlotte on October 27 and without a win since ending an NBA-record 28 straight games of losses. The Pistons had advantages of 60-46 in points in the paint and 25-15 in second-chance points.
Jordan Poole scored 16 points, Kyle Kuzma finished with 21 points and a team-high eight rebounds, and Tyus Jones led the Wizards with 22 points.
Spurs 99, Hawks 109
With a 36-point effort that included his 10,000th career point, Trae Young ended a scoring drought and helped Atlanta defeat visiting San Antonio.
Young made his first six 3-pointers and scored 29 points in the first half. Young had shot 29.3 percent from the field in the three games prior. He finished with 13 assists, going 11 for 24 from the field and 6 for 11 from three. Jalen Johnson also contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and a career-high 6 steals for Atlanta.
Victor Wembanyama of San Antonio pulled down 13 rebounds and scored 26 points, all of which came in the second half. Jeremy Sochan finished with eight rebounds and 23 points.
Bulls 91, Cavs 109.
With 34 points from Donovan Mitchell and nine consecutive double-doubles from Jarrett Allen, Cleveland defeated visiting Chicago to win their fifth straight game.
Cleveland led by as many as 21 points in the third quarter, powered by Caris LeVert’s 16 points, Sam Merrill’s 15 points, and Allen’s 10 points and 14 boards.
Early in the fourth quarter, Chicago mounted a comeback to take its first lead of the game, 81-80, but the Cavaliers swiftly regained possession and held on for their sixth consecutive victory over the Bulls. With eighteen points, Coby White led Chicago.
Nets 95, Heat 96 (OT)
Miami defeated struggling Brooklyn in New York thanks to 31 points from Jimmy Butler, who made a spectacular comeback from a sprained toe and made the game-winning free throws with 11.8 seconds remaining in overtime.
Butler converted 8 out of 12 field goals and 15 out of 16 free throws. The Heat shot 37.9 percent overall, with 23 of Tyler Herro’s 29 points coming after the half. For Miami, Bam Adebayo recorded a season-high 20 rebounds in addition to 11 points.
The Nets, who have lost 13 times in 16 games and dropped their third straight, were led by Mikal Bridges, who scored 26 points. 23 more points were contributed by Cam Thomas.
Raptors 96, Celtics 105
Toronto was upset by visiting Boston thanks to the 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists of Jayson Tatum.
The Celtics have beaten the Raptors in eight straight games with Jrue Holiday adding 22 points and seven assists. Derrick White scored 22 points in the end as well.
The Raptors, coming off a road trip where they had played in four games, were led by RJ Barrett, who finished with 24 points and nine rebounds. Toronto made 40% of its shots from the floor but only made 4 of 32 (12.5%) long-range attempts.
Pacers 105, Jazz 132
In a convincing victory over Indiana in Salt Lake City, Utah extended its winning run to six games, led by 32 points and ten rebounds from Lauri Markkanen.
