After his junior season, Paducah, Kentucky’s Martels Carter Jr., a 2025 four-star safety, is keen on the Tennessee Volunteers and getting ready for a stretch run in his recruitment.
Tennessee is determined to bring in elite defenders for the 2025 class. The coaching staff is eager to keep improving their defensive unit, and they have high expectations for a number of the incoming class’s difference makers. Tennessee is among the schools that place a high value on the services of four-star defensive back Martels Carter Jr.
From Paducah, Kentucky, Carter Jr. graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School. According to 247Sports, he is 6’0 and weighs 17 pounds, and he plays both sides of the ball. Based on their composite rankings, he is ranked No. 179 in the class of prospects. The exceptional athlete, known as “C4”, has a lot of explosive power. Tennessee made him an offer back in May 2022. He has since made three visits and gone to one school camp. It’s also critical to remember that he is Kentucky’s top track prospect. In order to update his recruitment, he took the time to chat with Volunteer Country.
When asked how his recruiting was doing overall, he responded, “It’s been great; that’s why I haven’t been able to put up any top schools, but it’s coming real soon!” Carter was questioned over the recent push-hard schools. The four-star institution states, “Kentucky, Tennessee, Clemson, Oregon, Auburn, and Alabama have been the schools that have been on me the most.” When asked who makes him feel like a priority, he also responds, “I would say Tennessee and Auburn because the head men text and call me a lot.” “Really, I don’t know right now,” he said in response to a question regarding possible visits. Regarding that, I’m willing to see anyone who requests to see me, but I’m certain I’ll be in Auburn and Tennessee.”
Martels has spent some time in the Tennessee camp. Regarding his rapport with the personnel, he remarked, “Excellent, I know almost everyone.” My guy is Coach [Tim] Banks. It hit home to know that he loves family as much as I do since he has always inquired about my family, and that is why I do it.” He also states, “In May, after I go to a few places on official visits, I’ll cut down schools.”
