Top organization executives have stated that Kyle Harrison, the San Francisco Giants’ top prospect, will not be traded this offseason.
Tim Kawakami of ‘The Athletic’ was provided the following quotation by Farhan Zaidi for his podcast:
Zaidi remarked, “I don’t see any realistic situation where we would move Kyle.” “He kind of represents what we want to do in the upcoming years. He was drafted and developed in our organization, and he is a local talent. has reached the major leagues. We believe that he has All-Star, Cy Young, and great contender potential. He is also a great child. Works very hard. Guys like them are the ones you should base your foundation on.
MLB.com ranks Harrison as the Giants organization’s top prospect.
In 2023, he pitched in seven games for San Francisco, the team that placed fourth in the National League West, to make his major league debut. In 34.2 innings, he had a 4.15 ERA and a 1-1 record.
A section of his MLB.com prospect profile looks like this:
Harrison’s low slot gives his throws good shape and angle. Although he still needs to learn how to use his upgraded tools, he can miss bats in the strike zone with all three of his offerings, so he doesn’t have to pinpoint their location. He will be prepared to assist the Giants and should soon lead their rotation once he honed his command and control.
With veterans Robbie Ray and Alex Cobb recovering from injuries, he ought to have a chance to challenge for a rotation slot early in the 2024 campaign. Ray won’t likely return until the middle of the season, and Cobb’s hip surgery will probably prevent him from being ready for action when the season begins.
