Florida’s Miami Gardens (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys will probably need to play another important game away from AT&T Stadium—in the playoffs—due to their difficulties on the road.
Dallas’ road record dropped to 3-5 after falling short of holding a one-point lead in the last 3 1/2 minutes of Sunday’s 22-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
The Cowboys have lost three of their road games to teams that have already qualified for the postseason. Dallas (10-5) clinched a postseason spot last week, but Philadelphia’s support will be necessary if it is to win the NFC East. If the Eagles defeat the New York Giants on Christmas Day, they will go one game ahead of the Cowboys.
Coach Mike said, “We have to play better than we did today.”
At least compared to their performance a week ago in their 32-10 loss to the Bills, the Cowboys performed far better. After trailing 19–10, they came back to lead 20–19 in the fourth quarter thanks to a touchdown pass of 8 yards from Dak Prescott to Brandin Cooks.
Dallas kept Miami to just one touchdown, but Jason Sanders converted all five of his field goals—three of which came from further than fifty yards, and the game-winning 29-yarder as the clock ran out.
Prescott stated, “Unfortunately, one play out there is the basis for this entire narrative.” “The player fails to make the field goal, and now we are discussing an entirely different perspective.” Thus, let us not overlook that.
Dallas’ opening two drives resulted in 153 yards gained, and Prescott completed a
McCarthy stated, “We had some protection issues.” “Too many linebackers were run through by them. We must perform those roles, especially the protective one, especially under such circumstances. There were times when we weren’t in the right place.
The Cowboys strengthened their defense and added points on their next three possessions.
Prescott remarked, “I can tell you the confidence is high from that group even though we didn’t come out with the win.” “It is evident that the way we lost this one hurts. Though we haven’t yet, we will. And it appears that we will be traveling in the future.
