After healing from an injury he sustained a week ago, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is anticipated to start Saturday’s game against Florida, per a report from ESPN college football analyst Pete Thamel.
Daniels sustained a head injury during the second half of LSU’s loss to Alabama last weekend; initially, he was labeled as probable for the match.
After being struck by Alabama linebacker Dallas Turner during a play in the second half of the game, the quarterback was hurt and had to retreat to the medical tent on the team’s sideline for more testing.
After he was unable to rejoin the game, reserve quarterback Garrett Nussmeier completed it.
Officials only called a roughing-the-passer penalty after reviewing the initial contact for targeting. Daniels tried to return for a moment then turned back to the tent.
Paul Finebaum was informed by LSU head coach Brian Kelly that he forwarded a video of the hit to the SEC office because he thought Turner’s hit should have been classified as targeting.
