The Baltimore Orioles, who had a dismal 2023 season, are eager to complete the task they began.
The World Series winner Texas Rangers swept the Baltimore Orioles in the ALDS, causing a sense of disillusionment in the clubhouse despite the team winning 101 games and the American League East division.
The Orioles front management is aware of their situation despite that decisive elimination.
Even though they weren’t expected to be this excellent yet, it is reasonable to feel let down following a playoff loss. A good many of people thought Baltimore would not be able to contend for at least another year or two.
Rather, they presented a case to be regarded as baseball’s top club in the regular season.
It is now anticipated that they will be even better in 2024.
According to manager Brandon Hyde’s comments, as reported by Jake Rill of MLB.com, the team plans to push even harder the next season.
Taking the next step and making progress in the postseason is what’s important to us right now, Hyde stated at the Winter Meetings in early December. “Our boys are going to be extremely hungry, in my opinion. Our guys are going to be incredibly driven this year, based on our limited conversations with a few of them during the offseason thus far. We had a terrific time there, but we want to do even better.”
There’s no doubting that the Orioles need to add pitching if they want to become the team they envision themselves to be. During the offseason, every competing team usually looks to add one or two arms to both the bullpen and rotation. There’s little doubt that fans will be unhappy if they don’t accomplish that.
After showcasing their abilities in 2023, things are looking up. They might win in the postseason if they have one or more outstanding starting pitchers.
The 101-win year and postseason berth are, at the very least, positive developments for Baltimore.
