Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Fletcher Cox chastises trash-talking San Francisco 49ers running back and receiver Deebo Samuel for failing to win a Super Bowl ring on his second attempt.
– On the largest stage of the NFL, Deebo Samuel and the San Francisco 49ers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs once more, laying another egg in the Super Bowl.
Fletcher Cox and the Philadelphia Eagles fan base, who had to endure listening to Samuel, the 49ers’ gifted running back and receiver, complain all offseason about how his team was superior to the Eagles despite losing 31-7 in the NFC championship game the previous year, are happy that Samuel is now 0-2 in his career in Super Bowls.
When asked if the 49ers and Eagles had a rivalry during Super Bowl week, Damuel again disparaged the Eagles. In response, he said that the only rivalries exist between teams that face his own, citing the 49ers’ 42-19 victory against Philadelphia in Week 13.
He even went so far as to refer to James Bradberry, the cornerback for the Eagles, as “trash” in the weeks preceding the Week 13 match.
As one of the greatest defensive tackles in Eagles history, Cox has a 1-1 record in Super Bowls. Following the game, he expressed his disapproval of Samuel and his derogatory remarks on social media.
“I still got something you ain’t got,” read his initial post. Yes! Son, I’ve been holding this one in!
“Keep the Eagles out cho mouth boa,” was the next command. It made mention to Samuel’s X account and was written entirely in capital letters.
