Zach LaVine and Pascal Siakam are available, but the 76ers don’t seem sold on potentially bringing them in.
The NBA is aware that Daryl Morey, the president of basketball operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, isn’t scared to make a bold move in the trade market. Having said that, it’s obvious that the Sixers won’t pursue celebrities merely for the pleasure of doing so.
Landing a top player was the perfect return, as Morey made plain during the now-resolved James Harden issue. His transfer took a different course when the Sixers received draft compensation and a number of role players in exchange for the ten-time All-Star guard.
The compensation from the Los Angeles Clippers may be exchanged for a single, highly-regarded prospect from another team, carrying out the President’s Plan B. The Sixers appear to be avoiding the market for some of the most well-known players available on the NBA trade deadline, though.
The Sixers’ position in the trade for Chicago Bulls shooter Zach LaVine and Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam was recently discussed by NBA Insider Marc Stein.
As per previous reports, the Sixers appear uninterested in pursuing a trade with either of their Eastern Conference opponents.
Siakam, on the other hand, would fit very well with the Sixers as Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid’s teammates. In addition, Siakam, who is under contract this season and knows Nick Nurse well, may be the star who makes the most sense of the two.
However, it appears that the Sixers aren’t seizing the chance to bring the former Raptors back to Philadelphia. The Sixers are willing to stick with their existing roster and won’t take a swing just to take one, even though the strategy might always change based on price and events between now and next month when the deadline begins.
