2025 five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. (Charlotte, N.C.) confirmed the Tennessee Volunteers are one of seven programs to check on him this spring.
David Sanders Jr., an offensive tackle from Providence Day School, is still a well-known figure in national recruiting circles. Along with a few other prominent coaches, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel paid him a visit last week to see how he was doing. Sanders identified the seven shows that are grabbing his interest by visiting him this spring in an interview with On3’s Chad Simmons.
Since his first year of high school, he has been in the public eye. Prior to his senior season, the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle is highly regarded by three national programs: Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Sanders is aware of the consequences of his choice in the building, and the Vols have dedicated a lot of effort to this recruitment.
Since moving to Knoxville, Tennessee, offensive line coach Glen Elarbee of Tennessee has done a good job of retooling his team. He performed admirably in the 2024 class, but in 2025 he has his sights set on a few big fish, Sanders foremost. Sanders’ ascent to the top will require a lot of work, but having George MacIntyre, the quarterback from Brentwood Academy, helps.
