George MacIntyre, a quarterback from the Nashville area, has long been considered one of Tennessee football’s top targets in the 2025 recruiting cycle, and it appears that the Vols are getting closer to securing the blue-chip prospects.
Early in the recruiting season, MacIntyre is seeking to make a choice about his football future. On Wednesday night, Steve Wiltfong of 247sports made a Crystal Ball prediction that Tennessee would select the highly regarded quarterback.
According to the 247sports composite rankings, the standout player from Brentwood Academy is a five-star prospect and the 15th best player in the nation. In the 2025 recruiting cycle, the 6-foot-5, 182-pound prospect is ranked as Tennessee’s best player and the nation’s second-best quarterback.

Throughout his recruiting, the blue-chip quarterback MacIntyre made six trips to Alabama and five to Tennessee. It has long been a Tennessee-Alabama rivalry. Before Nick Saban announced his retirement earlier this week, the Vols were leading MacIntyre’s recruiting class, but Tennessee’s chances are undoubtedly increased by the new head coach of the Crimson Tide.
With top 100 prospects Cameron Sparks and Tarrion Grant, blue-chip defensive lineman Ethan Utley, and several other four-star recruits, Tennessee has a formidable instate class led by the five-star quarterback in the 2025 cycle.
