A running back from Oklahoma in the Class of 2026 has already planned a trip to Knoxville after accepting an offer from Tennessee this week.
Even before he received a scholarship offer from the Vols earlier this week, KD Jones had intended to travel to Tennessee. However, this has just made him more eager to travel to Knoxville in the spring
Josh Heupel, the head coach of Tennessee, recently visited Southlake Carroll High School in Texas. Formerly the home of Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers, Southlake fields outstanding players and plays against some of the top opponents in the nation. Heupel was present to watch Jack VanDorselaer, a four-star Tennessee tight end recruit for 2025.
VanDorselaer is making waves in recruiting circles after announcing his commitment to the University of Tennessee. He played in-line tight end for Southlake and has athletic talent. A strong senior season would round out an outstanding developmental trajectory. According to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, the No. 255 recruit in the 2025 class visited Knoxville recently and reconnected with Volunteer Country during his time there.
When questioned about his overall impression of his visit, the Tennessee commit responded, “It was wonderful! I had the opportunity to spend some time with Coaches Josh Heupel and Alec Abeln. I witnessed the Tennessee atmosphere in a different context when I attended the basketball game. George MacIntyre, a recent quarterback commit, and I also spent time together. “It was good getting to speak with George,” he continued. I was able to learn more about him and hear how he thought. I’m happy he chose Tennessee; having a top-tier quarterback toss the ball to you is fantastic.
During a talk with new Vols running backs coach De’Rail Sims on Wednesday, the Class of 2026 running back from Jenks (Okla.) High School received an offer from Tennessee. He later announced on Friday that Tennessee is one of six schools he will be visiting over the coming weeks. In a post on his X account, he disclosed that he will be attending the Vols’ spring finale, the Orange and White Game, on April 13.
